Pilates is a gentle yet highly effective form of exercise that improves strength, posture, balance and flexibility while encouraging greater awareness of how your body moves.
Rachel offers both small group classes and 1:1 Physiotherapy Led Pilates sessions, combining the principles of Pilates with her extensive knowledge of anatomy, movement and rehabilitation.
Whether you’re looking to improve strength, recover from injury or support your pregnancy or postnatal recovery, every session is tailored to help you move with confidence.
Unlike a standard Pilates class, Rachel’s clinical background as a Chartered Physiotherapist allows her to adapt exercises to suit individual needs, injuries and health conditions.
This means you can feel confident knowing your exercises are guided by evidence-based practice and tailored to support your body’s movement and long-term health.
Rachel believes that understanding how your body moves is just as important as building strength. Her classes aren’t about achieving the perfect Pilates pose; they’re about helping you move with confidence, feel stronger in everyday life and enjoy being active for years to come.
Rachel’s classes focus on five key elements that create strong, efficient movement:
Together, these principles help improve movement quality, strength and overall function in everyday life.
Physiotherapy-Led Pilates is suitable for a wide range of men and women, including those who:
No previous Pilates experience is necessary.
If you would prefer individual support before joining a group class, or you’re looking for a programme designed specifically around your body and goals, Rachel also offers 1:1 Physiotherapy Led Pilates sessions.
These appointments are ideal for anyone recovering from injury, managing persistent pain, or looking for a more personalised approach to movement and rehabilitation.
For those who are pregnant or postnatal, one-to-one sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to build strength, improve confidence and address your individual needs at every stage of your journey.
1:1 and 2:1 Physiotherapy Led Pilates allow plenty of time for assessment, guided exercise and progression at your own pace. 1:1 Pilates sessions are £50 for 45 minutes.
Rachel runs four Physiotherapy Led Pilates classes each week at Biggar Rugby Club Gym in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Classes are suitable for mixed abilities, with exercises adapted where appropriate to meet individual needs.
Whether you’re completely new to Pilates or looking for expert-led classes to complement your recovery or fitness journey, Rachel would love to welcome you in class.
